I think Clarke did a more than decent job in game of thrones. Sure she played an unpleasant character but she did a good job there. So good that millions of people actually liked a person that constantly rooted for unnecessary violence and had no clue how to rule, yet felt entitled to unquestioning slavish worship and submission. Those dany fanboys are still busy trying to excuse all that away because Clarke did a good job at making this character likeable despite all these issues. She made the dany propaganda believable for all those who didn't take a closer look.

She is, many of GoT actors are. They sure made good casting choices and the actors are well fit for their roles, but many fall appart once you take them out of their comfort zone, just look at Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor or Sophie Turner as Jean Grey.
