Personally, I think that whenever possible, the author's vision should always be prioritized and followed the closest as possible. Whether the characters are to be white, black, pink, retarded, rapists, serial killers, whatever. The author worked to create a world of his own, and that should be respected, no matter what time period you're making the adaption in. I know that if I spend countless hours making my own world, with its own rules, races, themes, etc. And someone made an adaption and changed things just for the sake of changing things, or to explore a theme/message that I didn't, I would be pretty pissed. You can make your own world/story for that.

Rose Rodriguez

Yea sure, and then they release a trailer with a mermaid with a skin color slightly different to what you are used to and everyone loses their shit.

Alicia Lucero

The Boys is different from the comics to what it is in the show but its one of the very few times that deviating from the source is ok.

Marvin Mesa Maccountem

You do realize the movie remake yall are incel raging over already heavily deviated from the source material, if yall have been ok with it up until now you should be fine. Jfc go get laid or something

Rachel McGlenister

wa wa wa ya'll tired with this shit, keep it movin.

Brittany Quillen

what the hell is in your opinion the doctrine of rings of power? that there are non white people in a FANTASY world? wow such docctrin

Vyanjana Vyas

No, just no. I'm sick of filmmakers "enhancing" the content and delivering pure garbage. The ONLY reason for adapting content is when something from a book / comic / whatever does not work on screen, an inner monologue for example. And even then it should deviate as little as possible.

Mary Cox Morris

deviating from the source material should be used to reach a new audience

Arannaom Ierubara

movies should be about whatever who makes it wants it to be. And everyone is free to choose to watch it or not

Amanda Rauscher

"But we want black representation!" THEN DON'T TELL A STORY WRITTEN IN THE 40'S. Just hire a damn writer and make an original story.

Heat King

SHUT THE FUCK UP JESUS CHRIST WE GOT THE POINT THE FIRST BILLION POSTS HOLY FUCK SHUT UP. BROKEN RECORD BROKEN RECORD BROKEN RECORD AUTISM BROKEN RECORD FUCK!

Marietjie Michelle Smit

Well, there's freedom of arts. And of course profit orientation.

Ami Skinner

Wokes dont care about movie to be good, they care about woke checkmarks in the movie

Brad Wales

The problem is your own perspective. I consider black Elves and Dwarves in Tolkien's world an expansion to the lore. You consider a deviation for political reasons. The problem is, your know shit about Tolkien's lore, therefore you are not in position to argue about "enhancement" and "deviation".

Crystal Howell

Just stop consuming.

James Lee

In the original yu-gi-oh there was no "shadow realm" you just died. The concept was invented by censors at the Y4 kids and to be fair it is far more interesting than just lose game die. Even if in effect they are one and the same.

HasHim Javed

Dont like don’t watch. To give it any more time in your mind is dumb.

Yoseph Shiferaw

I agree, but I still think a lot of people hate the ring of power because they like to be butt hurt

Lonnie Heath

maybe they consider the lecture as enhancing.

They provided a source of comfort once, and we convince ourselves, over time, that they continue to do so. In truth, many we insist upon clinging to arent as helpful as we believe them to be. Youre being encouraged to remove yourself from a certain zone but, instead of being grateful for this, you could be responding in a way similar to a prisoner whose cell door is wide open and complaining about the draught. It might be time to release yourself from a source of comfort you no longer need.
